TakedownTargets
Supporting TwitterTakedown costs nothing.
Supporting Twitter costs everything.
This campaign is currently small, so these steps are small. But together we can take larger steps towards reducing Twitter’s dominance.

TwitterTakedown
In our review of 32 national US-based nonprofits dedicated to environmental, humanitarian, and civil rights causes, 25 included an X or Twitter link on their homepage. In contrast, only seven had a link to their Bluesky account. This includes the United Way, the Nature Conservancy, the ACLU, and Planned Parenthood. Almost all of the state affiliates of Planned Parenthood, Common Cause, and ACLU follow the same pattern.
We are asking organizations to take down this link and stop giving Musk free advertising. At a minimum they should add a Bluesky link.

Boycott Squarespace
Squarespace, one of the most popular website building platforms, still does not support a Bluesky link icon. (Here’s a guide for a work-around, by the way). But Wix (another website builder) does support Bluesky link icons.

Activate Don't Deactivate
Many people upset about how bad Twitter has become are deleting their accounts. Wanting to delete your X, FB, IG, and threads account makes sense! But to really grow the TwitterTakedown we need to reach the people still there. We are asking activists to post on Twitter about how everyone should leave and come to Bluesky. The only thing an X account is good for is posting about the TwitterTakedown!
If you don’t want to post, just delete all your content and leave a message up telling people where they can find you on Bluesky. If all everyone deletes their Twitter account, we won’t be able to get the word out where we really need to.
